Travel Blog
It is pretty funny that I have always wanted to start a travel blog but never found the time now did I even know how to do it. Traveling has been something I have always had a passion for and ever since I received my passport, I have been to 12 countries in the past year and don’t plan on slowing down.
I wanted to bring the awareness on how traveling can be cheaper than you think. My total cost for a trip to Tokyo and Australia (yes I traveling to both countries in one trip) was $375.
I used my miles from my American Express Platinum plus my 50K miles from my Delta American Express which gave me a total of 120K miles. I had to pay for the international tax which was about $109 USD.
I stayed at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo and the Park Hyatt in Sydney which happen to be one of the most expensive hotels in both of those cities. The Park Hyatt in Sydney would have costed me around $1,255 per night to stay there if I didn’t use my miles from my Chase account which I rolled over into my Hyatt account. It cost 30K miles per night for the Park Hyatt in Tokyo and Sydney. The total cost for the Park Hyatt in Tokyo will run you about $750 per night if you do not use miles to cover it. https://tokyo.park.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html
If you are looking to grab an upgraded, what I do is make sure to book the hotel with that brands credit card (usually that card will have some perks like free wifi and late checkout). Another way to get an upgrade is to call the hotel before you arrive and ask what room they have you in and ask nicely if there is something else that is a little bigger/ better.
